MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) - After a meeting with the Belarusian head of state WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge told journalists about the cheapest and most effective way to prevent diseases, BelTA has learned.
"I encourage everyone to practice 25-minute workouts every day. I agree here with Aleksandr Grigoryevich. It is necessary to pay more attention to the promotion of sport and exercise. This is the cheapest and most effective way to prevent any disease," he said.
Hans Kluge emphasized that 9 out of 10 people in the region die from chronic, not viral diseases. There are four main risk factors, which were also discussed at the meeting with the Belarusian president. These are smoking, alcohol abuse, lack of physical activity and unhealthy diet.
The WHO official stressed that maintaining a healthy lifestyle remains of paramount importance.
