BISHKEK, 27 November (BelTA) – In the near future, the artificial intelligence development may be considered at an event with the participation of the Belarusian president, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich told journalists as he attended the CSTO summit in Bishkek as part of the Belarusian delegation on 27 November, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Volfovich noted that this topic is also being discussed with partners in the CSTO. He believes that it is necessary to strengthen analytical capacity in order to address relevant challenges.
“Everything related to artificial intelligence must be discussed and brought to a new level. Accordingly, decisions must be made. In particular, such decisions will also be made in Belarus. It has been proposed to the president to hold a meeting in the near future, possibly in a closed setting, or perhaps a Security Council session could be dedicated specifically to the development of artificial intelligence,” the state secretary said.
He did not rule out that a decision may be taken to create cyber forces within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus or other structures of the country’s military organization. “The president supported this. We will prepare this meeting sometime in the first quarter of next year,” Aleksandr Volfovich added.
