Vitebsk Oblast welcomes 35,000 tourists in 2025

VITEBSK, 2 January (BelTA) – About 35,000 tourists went to Vitebsk Oblast on organized tours in 2025, the press service of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.

The region places great emphasis on the development of tourism and related services. Over the past five-year period, major repairs and modernization have been carried out at more than 100 existing tourism facilities in Vitebsk Oblast. New complexes, hotels, and health resort buildings have also been commissioned in Orsha District, Polotsk District, Ushachi District, Lepel District, and Vitebsk District, welcoming guests from abroad.

“New types of tourism are actively developing like event tourism and gastronomic tourism. The region is also seeing a growing number of enterprises engaged in industrial tourism. More than 850 weekend itineraries have been developed. All of this is aimed at enhancing the tourist appeal of the Dvina region. Since 2023, the export of tourism services in Vitebsk Oblast has recovered to pre-pandemic levels and increased by 1.6 times. The number of organized tourists visiting our region grows annually, with the total reaching about 35,000 people by the end of 2025,” the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee noted.

In the future, new and modernized facilities in Dokshitsy District, Verkhnedvinsk District, Braslav District, Ushachi District, Lepel District, Rossony District, Postavy District, Glubokoye District, and Vitebsk District will become points of attraction and appealing destinations for guests from Belarus and abroad.
