Two large groups of migrants break through Belarusian-Polish border

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) - Two large groups of illegal migrants broke through the Polish border from the territory of Belarus, TASS informs with reference to the Polskie Radio Bialystok.

Katarzyna Zdanowicz, a spokesperson for the local border guard department, said that in both cases, the migrants stormed and destroyed border fences and barriers.

According to border guards, the incident took place near the villages of Bialowieza and Krynki. Overall, several dozens of migrants broke through. Some of them were returned to the territory of Belarus, while others are still at large.

The Belarusian State Border Committee informed that on the night of 10 November, four injured men, ethnic Kurds, were found in a makeshift refugee camp on the Belarusian-Polish border. Everyone has injuries and signs of physical violence. “According to the refugees, they were detained on the territory of Poland, where they tried to ask for protection and refugee status. Judging by the numerous injuries on their bodies, Polish security forces beat the people up and forced them out to the Belarusian territory over a barbed fence on the border. The injured people were provided the necessary assistance,” the committee said.
