MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – As part of the ongoing combat readiness inspection of Belarus’ Armed Forces, reservists arrived at personnel reception points, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
Training sessions are underway in key military disciplines. The program includes tactical, firearms, and medical training. The main goal is to maintain a high level of skills and coordinated action to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.
“At present, we are delivering mobilization resources. We are receiving people, assigning them to units, issuing orders, and providing equipment. Training began immediately, including field exercises adapted to current weather conditions. The personnel are fully equipped according to the temperature regime, ensuring comfort during all types of training. Today, for example, sessions in tactical medicine and firearms training are being held. The men demonstrate their strong proficiency with weapons, showing that they have not lost their skills during their civilian lives. The mood among them is resolute,” said Colonel Sergei Sukhovilo, Deputy Commander of the Western Operational Command for Ideological Work. He emphasized that everyone understands their responsibility: once called up from the reserve, it is essential to recall the skills acquired during service in various units. Units are quickly forming cohesive teams, with friendly relations among servicemen. All understand the main task: being ready to defend the Motherland.
“I am positive about these training sessions. They are very important. As the saying goes, gunpowder must be kept dry. That means we need to periodically refresh our knowledge and hone our skills. Time does not stand still; things move forward, and the Armed Forces develop as well. New weapons and equipment appear, which must be studied, understood, and properly applied. Today we are engaged in comprehensive training. We are revisiting and updating previously acquired knowledge. Several training stations have been set up: for firearms training, communications, medicine, topography, and military reconnaissance,” noted reservist Captain Roman Kerimov.
