Sergeyenko opines on importance of communication between public and government

MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – Minsk is hosting a two-day national seminar-conference to discuss new methods and forms of public communication at the grassroots level. Addressing the participants of the forum was Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko, BelTA has learned.

“No matter what is happening at our border, no matter how much external pressure is put on our country, the task of the government remains unchanged - to create conditions for a decent life of people, to listen to and hear people's requests. This is the guarantee of public trust, which is essential for the breakthrough development of the country,” Igor Sergeyenko emphasized.

He added that technology is transforming our society at an unprecedented pace. As a result, people become more demanding when it comes to the quality of public services. Therefore, representatives of Belarusian regions have gathered here to carefully examine the state of affairs in public outreach, come up with proposals to improve communication with the public, and exchange best practices.

Igor Sergeyenko noted that the work will be structured into six thematic sections. “I urge you to approach the work in the most earnest way possible. Put forward suggestions, argue, brainstorm ideas. The main thing is to be deeply involved in the process,” Igor Sergeyenko said.

The national seminar-conference is taking place at the Palace of the Republic. On 9 June the participants of the forum will work in six sections. On 10 June they will gather for a plenary session at the BelExpo national exhibition center.
