Regular flights between Belarus and Vietnam are under discussion

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – The launch of a regular flight between Belarus and Vietnam is under discussion, Director of the Aviation Department of the Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications Igor Golub said at a press conference at Minsk National Airport dedicated to the ceremony marking the launch of the first direct flight to Vietnam.

“A direct flight between Belarus and Vietnam is a historic event for our aviation industry,” Igor Golub stated. “Currently, it is a charter flight, and people can only use it for tourism. We are now finalizing an intergovernmental agreement, which will allow us to launch regular flights between the two countries.”

He clarified that the matter is being coordinated with the Embassy of Vietnam in Belarus and the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “We hope this work will be completed soon and we will move forward with the signing of the intergovernmental agreement,” Igor Golub added.
According to him, the national air carrier’s acquisition of long-haul aircraft last year has significantly expanded civil aviation capabilities, enabling the launch of new routes. “We have recently started operating a new route to China – Sanya on Hainan Island. From now on we will also fly to Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. More destinations are ahead,” he noted, thanking all those who contributed to expanding the list of destinations.
The charter flights to Vietnam are scheduled to operate every 11 days. The aircraft is a comfortable model with a capacity for over 280 passengers. The service includes two hot meals, a 5 kg carry-on allowance, and checked baggage allowances of 23 kg in economy class and 32 kg in business class.
Demand is high, with the first flights fully booked. According to the tour operator, occupancy rates are expected to remain near capacity until spring.
