Denis Pushilin
MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are unlikely to take place in the near future, Head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin told journalists, BelTA has learned.
“To be honest, so far, the nature of hostilities and actions of the governing bodies of the remaining part of Ukraine suggest that Ukraine is not interested in the peace process; their statements and their intentions are not aligned,” Denis Pushilin said.
He noted that the word “peace” is currently understood in different ways. However, the DPR head is convinced that sooner or later negotiations will ensue. “But it’s hard to say when and how this will happen... Alas, from our point of view, this is going to be the next stage,” he added.
According to Denis Pushilin, judging by actions, as well as statements posted by the media, peace talks “are not a matter of near future”.
