MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – As part of the ongoing inspection of the combat readiness of the Armed Forces the State Secretariat of Belarus’ Security Council evaluates the physical fitness of the personnel of an independent mechanized battalion among other things, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
Today personnel of the inspected unit are expected to do pull-ups. This stage of the combat readiness inspection provides an objective evaluation of the physical endurance and the readiness of the military personnel to carry out their missions.
“As part of the large-scale combat readiness inspection of the Armed Forces we are organizing control tests of physical training. In accordance with the instruction from the president of the Republic of Belarus the personnel have to meet two requirements: they have to show strength by doing pull-ups and endurance by completing a 5km accelerated march as part of the unit,” Deputy Chief of the Military Security Office of the State Secretariat of the Security Council of Belarus Sergei Brezinsky noted.
In his words, the key goal of the control tests is to evaluate the physical training of the military personnel of an independent mechanized brigade. All the personnel are involved in it.
“Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko pays special and top-priority attention to physical training. He believes that the combat ability of the Armed Forces amid tensions hinges on it. This is why the most complicated requirements concerning physical fitness have been selected,” Sergei Brezinsky noted.
Preliminary results indicate that the military personnel are well-trained. The strength level of the personnel is decent, the official noted.
