Over 1,300 trucks queuing at Belarus' border with EU

MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – More than 1,300 haulers were queuing in Belarus to cross the border with the European Union as of 8.00 on 1 November, BelTA learned from the website of the State Border Committee.

Some 120 trucks were queuing at the Belarus-Latvia border at the Grigorovshchina checkpoint and 120 at Urbany. Over 60 trucks were waiting to cross the Belarus-Poland border at the Bruzgi checkpoint, 110 at Berestovitsa, and 10 at Kozlovichi. Some 120 heavy-duty trucks were waiting to cross the border with Lithuania at the Vidzy checkpoint, 210 at Kotlovka, 150 at Kamenny Log, 230 at Benyakoni, and 140 at Privalka.

“Despite the fact that the neighboring European checkpoints only partially complied with the agreements on the truck border crossing last weekend, the number of vehicles on the Belarusian side of the border to the EU did not exceed the statistical average. It should be noted that compared to last Monday (25 October) the number of trucks in front of the Belarusian checkpoints on the border with the EU has decreased by 48%,” the State Border Committee said.
