MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – The West is eating itself, Elena Ponomareva, Doctor of Political Science, Professor at MGIMO (Moscow State Institute of International Relations), said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“If we seriously assess the current global situation – in the European Union, Great Britain, and relations with the United States – it’s dessert time. The West is now devouring even itself,” said Elena Ponomareva.
The MGIMO professor went on saying: “Yes, it still tries to take bites in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the post-Soviet space. But in reality, the European Union is being used for dessert – because that’s the most substantial and tempting piece economically and financially.”
