MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – For some reason the collective West has claimed the right to dictate its will to the whole world, political scientist Aleksei Belyaev told the Editors' Club program on the Belarus 1 TV channel on 6 February, BelTA learned.
"The collective West has arbitrarily claimed the right to dictate its will to the whole world while violating their own rules, international norms and so on. What we see today is the spread of the jurisdictions of the United States, the EU onto other countries. For some reason they consider themselves entitled to give instructions, to make demands," Aleksei Belyaev said.
As an example, Aleksei Belyaev cited the trial of Alexei Navalny. The process was held in accordance with the Russian law but Western politicians tried to put pressure on Russia. "This is not even about Navalny. This is about imposing their point of view, about continuing the geopolitical war that has been raging for a long time," the expert believes.
