MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – Additional restrictions on crossing the Belarusian-Lithuanian border via the border crossing Medininkai have been reported by Lithuanian sources, the press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
The Lithuanian side intends to allow the following categories of individuals cross this section of the border: diplomats or persons carrying Lithuanian diplomatic mail; travelers in transit from Belarus to Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast and vice versa; citizens of Lithuania and the European Union, members of their families as well as people with Lithuanian residence permits.
The Belarusian customs service has confirmed that these categories of citizens started crossing the border via the border crossing Kamenny Log as from 14:30.
Since then 30 cars, two buses, and one truck have entered Lithuania. As many as 19 cars, 3 buses, and 20 trucks have been cleared to leave Belarus by the Grodno branch of the customs service.
The Lithuanian border crossing Salcininkai (Benyakoni on the Belarusian side) remains closed for an indefinite period of time.
