
MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – The bill to ratify the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on international road transport was passed at a sitting of the second session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation on 9 June, BelTA has learned.
The bill was submitted to the House of Representatives by the Council of Ministers on 30 April. Its purpose is to express the consent of the Republic of Belarus to the binding nature of the agreement between the Government of Belarus and the Government of Pakistan on international road transport signed in Islamabad on 26 November 2024.
The agreement aims to regulate operational and technical aspects related to carriage of goods and passengers by road between Belarus and Pakistan and in transit through their territories. The document establishes procedures to issue permits and special permits for international road transport, regulates mutual exemptions from customs duties, taxes, and other fees.
The implementation of this international treaty will promote cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan in road transport and increase the export of transport services to Pakistan and neighboring countries.
