MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) - Belarus deeply sympathizes with the people of fraternal Cuba following the massive fire set off as a result of a lightning strike on the oil storage in the city of Matanzas, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We extend our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those killed while fighting the fire. We wish a speedy recovery to those injured as a result of this incident,” the message reads. “We express our full support for the actions of the Cuban authorities to eliminate the massive fire as soon as possible.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its conviction that the heroic Cuban people will courageously deal with the situation, including by enlisting international support and the help of their loyal allies, including the Republic of Belarus.
