MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) - Cooperation between Belarus and the Republika Srpska is based on the Slavic brotherhood, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said as she met with a parliamentary delegation of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina headed by Chairwoman of the Republika Srpska Council of People Srebrenka Golić, BelTA learned.
“I sincerely thank you for accepting our invitation and coming to Belarus to discuss the prospects for further cooperation between the MPs of our countries,” Natalya Kochanova said. “Our peoples enjoy good and long-standing friendly relations, which are based on historical roots, on Slavic brotherhood, Slavic culture”.
We are united by many things, the speaker noted. “We are glad that our cooperation has become more active in recent years. In February 2024, President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik paid an official visit to our country. During the meeting with the Belarusian president the avenues of our cooperation were defined,” the Speaker emphasized. “Inter-parliamentary cooperation is very important for us. I am sure that your visit will give it a new impetus.”

The parliamentary delegation headed by Chairwoman of the Republika Srpska Council of Peoples Srebrenka Golić is visiting Belarus on an official invitation from Natalya Kochanova, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic, the Belarusian upper house of parliament. This decision was taken after a meeting between Natalya Kochanova and Srebrenka Golić on the margins of the Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum (in St Petersburg in September 2024).
