Kochanova: Belaya Rus political party has ambitious goals

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – The Belaya Rus political party has established itself as a political force, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said at the political party’s third congress in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

According to the speaker, the party was created at the right time. It was the initiative of members of the Belaya Rus public association.

“A lot has been done over these two years. The Belaya Rus political party is now a reality. There are 68,000 members in your ranks today. This is a good number. But it is not only about numbers. We have seen that these people are determined to do everything to support the existing system in our country. And people’s interests are at the heart of the government policy, as the president keeps saying. Over the 30 years of presidency, we have built a wonderful sovereign, independent country. And this should be a priority area of work for the political party – to strengthen the sovereignty and independence of our country, support the constitutional system and the constitutional law. This should be top on the agenda of the political party,” said Natalya Kochanova.

The Belaya Rus political party has very serious, ambitious goals, the speaker noted. “Today is a very difficult time; we should make no mistake of it. We are concerned by what is going on in the world. This is an extremely challenging time. You know, when young people spoke at the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia [in Nizhny Novgorod] on the topic of youth policy, I was beyond happy to realize that the youth has a solid grasp of what is going on in the world right now. The humanity is one step away from a global catastrophe. Many people are trying to reshape the world. I recalled the young people saying: people went through hell and gave us the keys to heaven. Young people said it while addressing the Forum of Regions, and they are right about it. We are rightfully proud of the country we live in,” the chairperson of the Council of the Republic remarked.

“Look at what has been done in our country over the course of 30 years in the fields of education, healthcare, and culture. A sovereign, independent state has been built under the wise leadership of our leader. We survived the war and the post-war devastation. We revived and rebuilt the country. Maintaining international contacts is one of the main areas of work for members of the Council of the Republic. We meet with our counterparts at various international venues. And almost everyone says: take care of your president. Take care of your country. This is very valuable,” she said.
