MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Preparations for the 2025 presidential election in Belarus are in full swing, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Igor Karpenko told the STV TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“We have entered an active phase of preparations for this campaign. Let me remind you that the election must take place no later than 20 July 2025. The decision is made by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. We will begin consultations with MPs in the near future after the opening of the session,” said Igor Karpenko.
According to him, guidelines and information materials have already been prepared. “We are completing the development of a visual concept for the election campaign and will officially approve it,” the head of the CEC remarked.
“I can also say that a surprise will await young voters who will cast their ballot for the first time,” added Igor Karpenko.
