MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) - Grodnoenergo Team took the second place at the energy industry skills competition held in Latvia on 8-10 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian national electric company Belenergo.
The event featured 27 teams of power distribution companies and construction and installation companies from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Belarus.
“Grodnoenergo Team arrived in Latvia at the invitation of Sadales Tikls, the organizer of the event. It is for the first time that Belarus competed against teams of the EU member states,” Belenergo said.
The venue for this year's event was the Cinevilla cinema town located 70km from Riga. A training ground fitted with all necessary gear and infrastructure was built there.
The competition covered a full range of maintenance and repair operations of electricity distribution networks. The teams competed in nine rounds and demonstrated professional skills in maintenance of transformer substations, overhead and cable lines, and in interaction with consumers. Every round had a winner, with points summed up in the final round to name the winner of the event.
