Gomel lawyer reflects on Lukashenko’s Address at Belarusian People’s Congress

GOMEL, 23 December (BelTA) – The President’s Address to the Belarusian People and Parliament serves as a reminder of every person’s responsibility for the present and future of Belarus. This opinion was shared with BelTA by Kristina Obukhova, a delegate to the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress, a specialist in the HR Department of the Justice Directorate of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, and chairperson of the youth wing of the primary organization of the Belarusian Women’s Union.
The Gomel resident emphasized that the Address was delivered in the Belarusian leader’s signature style: frank and accessible to all. “As always, the president’s words combine cordiality, honesty, and motivation,” she noted.

According to the delegate, the Address gained particular significance, in part, because these important words were spoken at a time of instability around the country. “This makes the main message all the more compelling: despite external challenges, Belarus continues to confidently move forward,” she emphasized.

The country’s steady development across various sectors and industries continues unabated. “This progress is confirmed by concrete achievements and positions in global benchmarks. For example, Belarus ranks 22nd out of 170 countries in the Quality of Life Index, and 19th out of 237 in infant mortality,” Kristina Obukhova cited, noting that these successes are the result of the labor of millions of true patriots who conscientiously perform their duties day after day.

“The Address culminated in a wise and succinct appeal: before demanding anything from others, it is worth evaluating your own actions and position in society. And these words are not a reproach, but a reminder of each person’s responsibility for the present and future of Belarus,” the delegate concluded.
