MOSCOW, 23 September (BelTA) - The commemorative concert Every Third is the highlight of the celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Sergei Glazyev said ahead of the commemorative concert Every Third at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow on 23 September, BelTA has learned.
“For us, holding the commemorative concert Every Third carries immense significance. It is dedicated to the victims of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Nazi occupation, and honors the heroes who defended and liberated our land. They are forever etched in our history as liberators, thanks to whom we live today,” Sergei Glazyev emphasized.
He noted that the Belarus-Russia Union State is making significant efforts to preserve historical memory. “This is our central event of the celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory. It is part of our joint program, which includes over 50 initiatives related to the Great Patriotic War, such as fortress reconstructions, museum complex development, and youth cultural events. This is one of our most vital areas of work, especially relevant today. This memory is very much alive,” he stressed.
Sergei Glazyev also thanked the organizers for the opportunity to experience the emotions and vivid imagery presented on Russia’s premier stage. “This is deeply meaningful for all of us,” he concluded.
The commemorative concert Every Third is taking place at the State Kremlin Palace. Six thousand people have gathered in the Great Hall. The concert featured both well-known Soviet songs about the war and Victory, as well as modern compositions on military themes to commemorate every third person who died in the Great Patriotic War. The program included unique archival footage and photo documents, with the poetic basis being Anatoly Vertinsky's Requiem for Every Fourth. The premiere of the program took place in Moscow on Poklonnaya Hill in May 2024. To mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a series of commemorative concerts were held at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk in April 2025. They were attended by spectators from all regions of Belarus.
