MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – Parliamentary contacts between Belarus and Azerbaijan can be an example for many countries, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova said as she met with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament, Natalya Kochanova on the sidelines of the CIS IPA Council meeting in St. Petersburg, BelTA has learned.
“I want to say sincerely that we are very happy to meet with you, our counterparts,” noted Sahiba Gafarova. “We do not forget our meetings. When I was on an official visit to Belarus, we were all impressed by what we saw. We talked about the development of bilateral relations, which, I believe, can serve as a model, an example for many countries,” she went on saying.
“We are proud and very pleased with the way our interparliamentary contacts are developing. We represent our peoples, and our peoples are very like-minded - they are peace-loving and have always treated each other with great affinity,” added Sahiba Gafarova.
