MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) - Wi-Fi internet connection will be tested on one of the tram routes in Minsk in June 2020, BelTA learned from the official Telegram channel of the Minsk City Hall.
Plans are in place to kit out all public transport of the Belarusian capital with free Wi-Fi.
“Wi-Fi access will be good not only for passengers. Wi-Fi in transport will help develop a system of sale and verification of travel tickets with the help of a smartphone in the city,” representatives of the Minsk City Hall said.
The project is the result of a successful public-private partnership. The company, which implements the project, will provide access to wireless internet for free, earning on advertising when entering the network.
