"On Point"
MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) – Washington and London may be grooming their own picks for the post of Ukraine’s next president, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
The expert suggested that U.S. President Donald Trump needs to overcome resistance from London which is hindering negotiations on Ukraine. Aleksandr Tishchenko also stated that the British are already preparing a candidate to replace Vladimir Zelensky, with former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny being among the possible contenders.
“Umerov (Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov), in my view, is Washington’s protégé for this position. But all this is internal Western squabbling, and it is likely to end quickly,” said Aleksandr Tishchenko.
