MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) - The upcoming talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. leader Donald Trump will mark the beginning of a process to redivide the global world and spheres of influence, military expert Yuri Dudkin said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
According to the expert, if one examines human history, such events occur regularly, approximately every 100 years.

“We are living witnesses to these processes, no matter how complex and difficult they may be. The continuation of the dialogue in Budapest is a continuation of Anchorage [the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska]. It is a continuation of that meeting about which we know very little,” Yuri Dudkin said.

He recalled that some details of that meeting on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Dushanbe were shared by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. However, the Belarusian leader diplomatically refrained from delving into the details of the negotiations. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Vladimir Putin thoroughly informed his CIS colleagues about the results of the meeting with the U.S. president in Anchorage. “It was about the proposals from the USA at the time, and Putin confirmed this. I mean the proposals on Ukraine from the USA, not Russia,” the Belarusian head of state explained as he spoke to the media.

Yuri Dudkin believes that the upcoming meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Budapest is a “prelude to the sensational developments we are yet to hear about”.

“Budapest is the beginning of a major redivision of spheres of influence between Russia and the USA. Of course, one cannot disregard the interests of another global state, the People's Republic of China. I think that depending on how things go in Budapest, the trade wars with China will either be stopped or at least somewhat contained, because the unipolar world is becoming a thing of the past,” the expert concluded.
