"On Point"
MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) – The militarization of Europe represents the primary challenge for Europe itself, former member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Spiridon Kilinkarov said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“There are many contradictions among countries within the European Union. Poland and Germany, France and Germany, Germany and Britain, Britain and France... It's a tangled nest of snakes. Europe was cemented by the presence of the United States, which, as a hegemon, call the shots and dictate terms to various governments. If the USA were to simply turn away and turn their back tomorrow, Europe could drown in blood," Spiridon Kilinkarov said.
The former Rada member said that the European Union would rather look for threats primarily within itself: “A militarized Europe is the greatest challenge for Europe itself. Perhaps they do not yet understand this and are continuing down the path of militarization. But this is the biggest challenge they will have to respond to. When the Germans, for example, rearm, I don’t know how it might end, given all the humiliations they have had to endure from the likes of the Estonians.”
