MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) - The invitation extended to Minsk to participate in the Board of Peace, an initiative launched by Donald Trump, is directly tied to the stature of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Doctor of Military Sciences, Professor Nikolai Buzin said in a recent episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“The invitation for Belarus to join the Board of Peace is a very high assessment of our nation’s political capabilities. It is a personal testament to our president as someone with whom dialogue is possible, who can influence processes in our region, and who has, for many years, found the right solutions to extremely complex challenges,” said Nikolai Buzin. “I believe Belarus’ invitation is primarily a reflection of Aleksandr Lukashenko’s personal stature.”

The expert added that Belarus’ invitation to the Board of Peace also reflects the considerable political weight of its president. He noted that Belarus is thus placed on par with states recognized as global leaders. “According to the U.S. president, who does not engage with the weak, our country is capable of influencing the processes unfolding in the region,” emphasized Nikolai Buzin.

The expert emphasized that recent years have made it particularly evident that the so-called isolation of Belarus is illusory: “If the USA is engaging in dialogue with Belarus, then there is simply no need to pay attention to Germany or France. We are holding talks on equal footing with the USA, Russia, and China. Not to mention India and hundreds of other states. We are a recognized country, capable of influencing many global processes. We are not only being seen, we are being closely watched and listened to.”
