MINSK, 3 November (BelTA) – Belarusian president’s Press Secretary Natalya Eismont commented on Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s reaction on the people’s flash mob Nado! [You Must] in his support in an interview with the First News TV Channel, BelTA has learned.
It all started with Russian journalist Olga Skabeyeva’s question to the Belarusian president. In an interview with Aleksandr Lukashenko, Olga Skabeyeva asked whether he would run for the president in the upcoming election in Belarus. The head of state replied: "I will run if my supporters say I must." These words of the president kick started the people's flash mob. It was joined by farmers, oil workers, journalists, doctors, teachers, builders and many other Belarusians.
“People tell the president: ‘You must’. The message is crystal clear. People say such a weighty and capacious word. What to think of it? I think it's a good idea. A truly people's initiative,” Natalya Eismont said.
"The president asked us if it was our idea," Natalya Eismont said speaking about the president’s reaction to the flash mob. The president asked whether Natalya Eismont organized the flash mob. It turned out that the initiative came from creative people.
