MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Egypt is interested in training its engineering officers in Belarus, Vice-Rector for State Aviation - Head of the Military Faculty of the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation Pavel Primak told BelTA as the academy was hosting a Egyptian delegation.

“Representatives of the Central Office for Combat Training and Military Education of the Armed Forces of Egypt would like to learn more about Belarus’ system of training defense personnel and consider training their officers in Belarus, specifically at our university. First of all, they are interested in engineering disciplines. They have already visited Belarusian National Technical University and the Military Academy,” said Pavel Primak.

The military faculty of the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation teaches its students to operate unmanned aircraft and ground-based flight support systems. “Today, these are the most popular specialties in aviation. The Academy has extensive experience in training foreign specialists. The military faculty has trained specialists from Venezuela, Sudan, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries. We have a wide range of training programs for foreign students,” the vice-rector informed.

The Belarusian State Academy of Aviation is ready to provide educational services if the two ministries sign cooperation documents. “We have already prepared several contracts, and not only for Egypt. In September, we hosted military attaches of about 20 African states. These documents apply to them as well. I am not entitled to talk about the implementation period. But we are ready to enroll students from these countries starting from 1 September. We have all the necessary equipment, accommodation, amenities, including a canteen that is ready to serve dishes foreign students are used to. The Egyptians also brought a package of proposals for us to exchange cadets,” added Pavel Primak.

The foreign delegation is set to study the training of civil and military pilots, the infrastructure of the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation, and innovative educational and training complexes.
