MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) - The relations between Qatar and Belarus are based on common cultural values and strong friendship, His Chargé d'Affaires of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Belarus Mr Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari said at the event to mark Qatar National Day in Minsk on 16 December, BelTA learned.
“From the first day of my stay in your beautiful country, I have felt myself among friends. The feeling is shared by all Qatari citizens who have visited the Republic of Belarus enjoying its safety, tranquility, natural beauty and hospitality of its people,” the diplomat said.
“The relations between Qatar and Belarus are based on shared cultural and humanistic values, on a strong friendship built on mutual respect and trust. We will strive to develop and strengthen these relations in the future in economy, trade, tourism and culture,” he emphasized.
“In this regard, we note the aspiration of the Republic of Belarus to strengthen its sovereignty and independence, including in the international arena, through active participation in international organizations. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Belarus on its accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and acquiring a partner status of the BRICS group,” the Chargé d'Affaires said.
According to him, the two countries have significant potential to deepen cooperation and achieve common goals. “We are always ready to work towards these goals under the leadership of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus,” the diplomat added.
