MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – What defines the Belarusian army today? Experts shared their opinions in the latest episode of BelTA’s project The Nation Speaks.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces for Science Viktor Tumar noted that the Belarusian army is comprised of patriots. “A mobile, high-tech, compact army with patriotic people ready to carry out any order of the commander-in-chief and to defend the country’s borders,” he said.
Another important characteristic of the modern army that matters is that it is a constantly developing organism, pointed out Anatoly Bulavko, member of the National Security Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus. “It is very important to understand this, because the head of state has repeatedly emphasized that today it is enough to stop for a minute to fall behind forever. Our Armed Forces are equal to the challenge in both equipment and morale. There can be no question of stopping, or even pausing, our development. And that, perhaps, is the secret of our success,” he said.
