MOGILEV, 11 December (BelTA) – How the Belarusian information technology sector develops was sketched out by Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Kirill Zalessky during a meeting with the staff of OOO AG Production Company in Mogilev, BelTA has learned.
Yevgenia Tsareva, Director of the Mogilev-based IT company, noted that the company is a resident of the Hi-Tech Park and focuses on the development of mobile gaming apps as well as the development and support for the cloud-based server solutions that enable these apps. The company has about 70 employees. The product made in the oblast capital enjoys strong demand among users.
The CEO noted: “Development and production represent an interesting and complicated stage. Behind every element you can see on the screen is a huge amount of work by expert specialists. We support standards of the Hi-Tech Park. We organize matters in a way as to bring money into the country and to provide our employees with maximum comfort at work, with opportunities for the development of their potential and for doing what they know how to do best.”
The Belarusian communications and informatization minister met with the IT specialists as part of the universal awareness-raising day that focused on “Five-year period of quality – results of the Year of Improvement”. The official talked about results of the Year of Improvement, answered some questions, and shared personal stories. The communication turned out to be satisfactory and versatile.
“Today we have had a very meaningful conversation. It is important to talk to people who drive progress. And this progress happens not only in Minsk, but also in the regions. At such meetings people ask questions that interest them, can openly talk about their problems, and we can openly answer them and take note of all the issues in order to understand to where we need to move forward,” said Kirill Zalessky.
Despite any complications the Belarusian IT sector continues to be a key element of the domestic economy. “An important role of this sector is the development of export. Based on results of this year, we see growth. According to our estimates, the Hi-Tech Park’s export will reach $2 billion. This is 10-12% higher than last year,” the minister emphasized. “Our IT sector is an important source of competences for the introduction of state information systems and the digital government concept. All these systems are created by people, by our specialists, and it is important that we have them. And it is the Hi-Tech Park that brings together experts and specialists in this field. By implementing projects in Belarus and abroad, they gain the experience and competences that we use to develop our state systems as well.”
Kirill Zalessky noted that Belarus has created a very favorable environment for the development of high technologies. All the necessary decisions have been made, and despite external challenges this sector is coping with them by readjusting its mechanisms. They are adapting very well to the changing reality, continue to develop their businesses and thus make a significant contribution to the country’s economy. “Any requests from the IT sector when the time demands some new solutions will be heard immediately and responded to at the state level,” he stressed.
Every IT specialist is a citizen and a patriot who lives and works here. “They are heavily involved in the improvement of our country, help resolve a number of social issues, sometimes quietly and without advertising themselves. They implement important projects, create our reality, and build the future,” Kirill Zalessky summarized.
