
MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - The Belarusian embassy in South Korea recommends Belarusians staying in this country to observe safety measures and avoid public gatherings, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Seoul.
The diplomats gave recommendations in connection with the development of the domestic situation in the Republic of Korea. “In connection with the upcoming 4 April announcement of the verdict of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Korea on the impeachment of the president and taking into account the information received from the municipal authorities of Seoul about the high probability of large demonstrations in the near future, the embassy appeals to the citizens of the Republic of Belarus who are currently in the Republic of Korea and its capital, in particular. Please observe safety and security measures, refrain from visiting crowded places and holding political rallies, as well as fulfill the requirements of the state authorities of the Republic of Korea,” the embassy said.
Special attention was paid to the situation in the country's capital. “According to an official report from the Seoul municipal authorities, heavy traffic and large public gatherings are expected throughout the capital from Friday through Sunday this week. Jongno District and Jung District have been declared 'special crime prevention zones,'” the embassy added.
“Traffic near the Constitutional Court will be restricted. Nearby establishments, museums and schools will also be temporarily closed. The Anguk station of Metro Line 3 will be suspended: trains will run non-stop, other major metro stations nearby may also be closed depending on the situation,” the embassy informed.
