Belarusian People’s Congress delegates take key decisions to youth for discussion

MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – The first open dialogue titled Voice of Youth: Vector for the Future, organized by the Belarusian BRSM Youth Union to discuss the main points of the President’s Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly of Belarus, as well as the program for social and economic development for 2026-2030, was held at the M. Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, BelTA has learned.

Roman Bondaruk, Deputy Head of the Administration of Minsk’s Partizansky District, noted that every delegate is focused on conveying everything that happened at the Belarusian People’s Congress to as many people as possible. “Here, at this dialogue platform, we have the opportunity to speak with young people in simple language. This way, we want to tell and explain what messages the president conveyed for us. This is done so that the youth understand how the adopted decisions will affect the social and economic development of our country,” he said.

“We plan to continue visiting various educational institutions. Because that’s where young people study who will later work at enterprises and organizations in our country. Most importantly, these are the people who will develop the country together with us. Our main task is to always remain united,” Roman Bondaruk emphasized.

Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Aleksandr Davydovsky noted that it is important not just to give a lecture or present the program to students, but to discuss it and hear the youth’s opinion. “We want to convey the tasks outlined by the Belarusian People’s Congress in an understandable and accessible way, in a more informal setting. We talked with the students about all the adopted decisions and, of course, about Belarus’ program for social and economic development,” he explained. “The BRSM had 80 delegates at the congress. And each of them will hold at least one such meeting in their respective areas.”

During a series of open dialogues Voice of Youth: Vector for the Future, delegates of the Belarusian People’s Congress from the Belarusian BRSM Youth Union visit organizations and enterprises across the country. Their goal is not merely to convey facts but to create a platform where this information becomes material for reflection, discussion, and, most importantly, for forming their own civic position.

The Belarusian BRSM Youth Union is vested with the right to nominate and elect delegates to the Belarusian People’s Congress. The decision to include the organization among civil society entities entitled to interact with state bodies (organizations) in special formats was adopted by the Ministry of Justice. Thus, on 9 April 2024, at the 45th BRSM Congress, 80 delegates were elected to participate in the Belarusian People’s Congress: 10 from each region and 20 from Minsk.
