Belarusian paratroopers to participate in tactical army exercise in Russia

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) – Personnel of a reinforced air assault company of the 38th Independent Guards Air Assault Brigade have left for Ulyanovsk, Russian Federation for the sake of participating in a battalion-level tactical exercise, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

The exercise will take place in the exercise area Polivno on 9-20 March in accordance with this year's plan on cooperation between the Belarusian Defense Ministry and the Russian one. The exercise will be supervised by a deputy commander of the Airborne Troops of the Russian army. A Belarusian-Russian mixed unit will practice preparations for and actual peacemaking actions as part of a collective peacemaking force.

Helicopters will be used for search operations. Mobile reserves will be landed and “assault dropped” as part of the exercise.

The exercise will allow establishing common views on methods for preparing for and carrying out joint army exercises. It will allow determining the most effective and advisable methods in the work of commanding officers and army units. It will also allow sharing experience and the best practices in the course of joint special actions.
