Belarusian NPP studies personnel training programs of Russia’s Balakovo NPP

MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) - Specialists from Belarus visited the Balakovo NPP to study the experience in personnel training, BelTA learned from the communications department of the Balakovo NPP.

Specialists of the training center of the Belarusian nuclear power plant visited the Balakovo NPP. The parties exchanged experience in maintaining and developing the competencies of instructors, and also discussed a wide range of issues related to the qualification of instructors, technical equipment and, in general, the organization of the educational process in personnel training.

“Our nuclear power plant is always ready to exchange experience, which is an important tool for professional growth. The Balakovo NPP training center was launched in 1993 and since then it has accumulated a wealth of experience and positive practices. For our part, we have provided maximum support to our Belarusian colleagues. We introduced them to our methods and training programs, in particular, the areas we focus during the training, the areas of activity of instructors and practices of improving their skills. After all, professional training of personnel largely depends on the competences of instructors,” said Denis Bessonov, head of general training of the Balakovo NPP training center.

During the two-day visit, representatives of the Belarusian NPP visited the classrooms and laboratories of the Balakovo NPP training center and also got acquainted with the facilities of the training center. “I was impressed with everything I saw here: the use of innovative technologies, multimedia systems that are integrated in the learning process. I liked the practice of holding a competition among instructors for the best training material. This competition will also be useful to us. We have received a lot of useful information to improve our activities,” said Aleksei Marchenko, instructor of the Belarusian NPP training center.

“I am involved in occupational safety training, so I was more interested in this topic. I was very impressed with the radiation safety training class. The project is top-notch. We also studied the distribution of responsibilities among general training instructors and the competition among the shifts of the main control room. I am sure that the experience of Balakovo colleagues will help us significantly improve our work,” said Aleksandr Belavsky, the leading instructor of general training of the Belarusian NPP training department.

Representatives of the Balakovo NPP training center lauded the high level of professionalism of Belarusian colleagues and the friendly nature of interaction during the visit.
