MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Belarus’ Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Sports and Tourism ministry’s press service.
The parties discussed a number of projects to expand cooperation in sports and tourism. Plans include producing a film about a training camp with well-known representatives of Muay Thai from the CIS countries, organizing a promotional tour to Thailand for Belarusian travel bloggers, and arranging exchanges of children’s football club teams for sports training.
Sergei Kovalchuk emphasized Belarus’ openness to constructive dialogue and readiness for cooperation at all levels. Ambassador Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, in turn, reaffirmed Thailand’s position on the unacceptability of politicizing sport and expressed hope for a speedy return of Belarusian athletes to international competitions.
