MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – Belarusian schoolchildren won 10 medals at the XXI International Zhautykov Olympiad, the Belarusian Education Ministry told BelTA.

The competition took place in Almaty on 10-15 January. This year, more than 600 students from 16 countries competed in mathematics, physics, and informatics. Belarus was represented by 14 talented students. As a result, the young Belarusians earned 10 medals: two silver and one bronze in mathematics, one gold and two silver in informatics, and two silver and one bronze in physics. Their success reflects hard work, the support of teachers and parents, and the country’s systematic efforts to identify and nurture gifted youth.

Organized under the auspices of Kazakhstan’s Education and Science Ministry, for more than 20 years the competition has brought together schoolchildren from around the world, developing international cooperation, exchange of experience, and the promotion of physics and mathematics disciplines.
