MINSK, 26 February (BelTA)- A delegation of Belarusian universities visited Istanbul on 23-25 February. The visit was organized with the assistance of the Belarusian Consulate General in Istanbul, BelTA learned from the Consulate General of Belarus in Istanbul.
The delegation comprised representatives of the Belarusian National Technical University, Pushkin Brest State University, Masherov Vitebsk State University, Skaryna Gomel State University, Kupala Grodno State University, Polotsk State University, and the Center for International Relations at the Education Ministry. They visited Istanbul University and the Istanbul Aydın University, got familiar with the organization of work on campuses. The parties exchanged views on the areas of inter-university cooperation.
At a meeting with President of the Eurasian Universities Union of (EURAS) Mustafa Aydin, Consul General of Belarus in Istanbul Aleksei Shved conveyed the official invitation of Belarus' Education Minister Igor Karpenko to visit Belarus. The parties discussed the possibility of Belarus' participation in the Eurasia higher education summits held under the auspices of EURAS.
During the seminar hosted by the Consulate General, the members of the Belarusian delegation informed the participants (representatives of Turkish universities, city authorities) about the development of the higher education system in Belarus, presented the bachelor's program, master's degrees, refresher courses, summer and winter schools, Russian language courses. The participants reached an agreement to continue cooperation.
