Belarus’ PM lays wreath at Jose Marti Memorial in Cuba

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko laid a wreath at the Jose Marti Memorial, a memorial to a national hero of Cuba, as part of his official visit to Havana, BelTA has learned.

The memorial is located in the center of the Plaza de la Revolucion in Havana. The monument is the tallest structure in the capital, 142 meters high. Jose Marti was a Cuban poet, writer, publicist, translator, philosopher and revolutionary, leader of the liberation movement of Cuba from Spain.

Earlier, Roman Golovchenko paid an official visit to Venezuela. The Belarusian government delegation continues its work on expanding cooperation with the faraway countries in Cuba. Later, the Belarusian delegation is expected to pay a visit to Nicaragua. According to Roman Golovchenko, the main goal is to lay a solid foundation for future interaction.
