Belarus plans to launch e-sick leave project in 2027

MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – Belarus plans to launch a pilot project to introduce electronic sick leave certificates in 2027, Aleksei Shcherbinsky, Director of the National Scientific and Practical Center for Medical Technologies, Informatization, Management and Health Economics, said on the air of the STV channel on 14 June, BelTA has learned.

“In 2027, we are planning a pilot e-sick leave project in order to eliminate all unnecessary actions on the part of patients and medical workers. The system itself records the fact that the illness has ended and automatically sends the information to all parties concerned,” Aleksei Shcherbinsky said.

He also noted that a patient queue management project is also in the pipeline and will also be launched in 2027. “All available appointment slots for a particular consultation will be visible,” he noted. Specialists have already identified the list of forms that will become fully electronic by the end of this year.
