MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian government has established Belarus’ next national climate action plan for 2026-2035 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Belarusian government’s press service told BelTA.

The resolution was adopted to fulfill Belarus’ international commitments under the Paris Agreement to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change of 12 December 2015.

The document establishes the next nationally determined contribution of Belarus to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions for 2026-2035. It provides for cutting greenhouse gas emissions by at least 42% from the 1990 level by 2035.

The previously set target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 35% from the 1990 level by 2030 was achieved in 2025.
