Belarus opens CIS first computer class for visually impaired people

MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – Game Stream, the Hi-Tech Park resident company, and the Minsk State College of Electronics opened the CIS first computer class for a group of students with visual impairments, BelTA learned from the HTP.

“The hi-tech world is literally a unique environment where everybody has equal access to the latest information, the best education, with no barriers to self-expression and creativity”, the company noted.

The Minsk State College of Electronics is the first national inclusive education resource center. Students with disabilities (people with hearing impairments, wheelchair persons, etc.) can receive training in programming, robotics, automation, mobile software systems.

The company employees also responded to the request of the social services center for people with disabilities of Zavodskoy District of Minsk. A modern caterpillar stairlift was purchased with the employees' money. It allows an easy access for people with impaired mobility even to buildings with no elevators and ramps.
