MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – The second staff negotiations took place in Kyrgyzstan on 12-14 June to discuss the organization of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) exercises, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
Participants of the negotiations discussed the organization of the command and staff exercise Vzaimodeistviye 2024 [Interaction] for the CSTO collective rapid response forces, the special exercise Poisk 2024 [Search] with reconnaissance forces and assets, and the Eshelon 2024 [Echelon] exercise with logistics support forces and assets.
Representatives of ministries and government agencies concerned of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, the CSTO Secretariat, and a group of officers of the CSTO Joint Staff took part in the staff negotiations.
During the talks the participants clarified and agreed concepts for holding these exercises, the organization of leadership, the composition of the command and control bodies and the national contingents that will be trained, the procedure for carrying out the practical actions as well as matters concerning the provision of all kinds of support.
The area where the exercises are supposed to take place this autumn was reconnoitered. The exercises will take place in the territory of the education and training center Edelweiss of Kyrgyzstan’s Armed Forces.
