 Belarus hosts delegation of Uzbekistan’s tourism industry

BREST, 18 May (BelTA) - Representatives of Uzbekistan’s tourism industry are visiting Brest Oblast on 17-18 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

The delegation includes representatives of the Tourism Committee at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan and tour operators. 

"This is the first visit. We need to visit each other often. Belarus is a beautiful country. Uzbekistan and Belarus are friendly nations. It's one thing to know about it, it's another thing to see it with your own eyes," said Umid Shadiev, chairman of Tourism Committee at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee Vadim Kravchuk, the region pays great attention to the development of the tourism industry. The infrastructure is improved; the number of tourist facilities is growing. The priority areas are historical, cultural, health tourism, agro-ecotourism. The region promotes MICE, industrial and gastronomic tourism.

"Domestic tourism has gained momentum in our country. There are quite a lot of interesting places in Brest Oblast. The biggest landmarks, of course, are Brest Fortress and Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Many people fall in love with Kossovo Palace. Our health resorts enjoy high demand for quality and affordable prices. Medical tourism has grown very popular among foreigners," Vadim Kravchuk listed.

Guests from Uzbekistan visited the Ruzhany medical-focused health resort where they got acquainted with the list of services for health improvement and leisure. They also toured Ruzhany Palace of the Sapiehas and Kossovo Palace and Park. The program of the visit of the Uzbek delegation also includes tours of the city of Brest, Brest Hero Fortress and Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The guests will also feel the flavor of outdoor recreation in the countryside by visiting one of the farmsteads in Kamenets District.

Belarus and Uzbekistan are committed to developing close cooperation in tourism.
