MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ forestry enterprises have restored over 13,500 hectares of forests since the start of spring, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry.
Over 10,200 hectares of forests have been restored through tree planting, more than 3,300 hectares - through sowing. The plan of spring forestry works is already 70% complete. The ministry reminded that it is planned to restore more than 20,500 hectares of forests this spring.
The restoration of areas damaged by the storm in July last year is underway. Over 4,200 hectares have already been rehabilitated in the affected zones.
There are plans for future projects as well. Soil treatment for forest planting is proceeding as planned. Foresters have already completed this work across 7,000 hectares.
