Belarus, Cuba to hold joint event in biotechnology in July

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Belarus and Cuba will hold a joint event in the field of biotechnology at the end of July, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Belarus Santiago Perez Benitez met with Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Vladimir Gusakov. The parties agreed to hold a joint biotechnology event at the end of July during the visit of a Cuban delegation from the Finlay Institute of Vaccines to Belarus.

In addition to that, Vladimir Gusakov and Santiago Perez Benitez discussed plans to intensify bilateral cooperation in the field of biotechnology, chemical sciences, information technology, agricultural sciences and electric transport. They exchanged information on the achievements of Belarus-Cuba cooperation and agreed to consider conducting joint activities and signing the appropriate road maps.

The ambassador visited the exposition of the National Academy of Sciences titled “Scientific achievements for the manufacturing industry” that showcases the latest solutions of Belarusian scientists.
