MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) - The level of regional cooperation between Belarus and China has approached the level of political cooperation between the two countries, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said as he met with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong on 4 September, BelTA has learned.
“We have repeatedly mentioned these figures, but recalling them at today’s meeting would not go amiss. During your cadence, despite the pandemic and sanctions, we reached a record-high trade in 2023. Apparently, 2024 will be at the same level, maybe even better,” Nikolai Snopkov said.
According to the first deputy prime minister, the Great Stone joint project was developing at an even greater pace than before the pandemic. “That came to me as a surprise. It shows two things. First, we together have been able to create the right conditions for the residents of the park, and the park, as an investment site, looks appealing to investors. Second, is your personal participation, of course. Half of the residents who came to the park during this period are Chinese companies,” he emphasized.
Nikolai Snopkov also mentioned regional cooperation: “We know very well how much attention our presidents pay to regional cooperation. It really lays the foundation.
