MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) - Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova and Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji on the sidelines of the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in St Petersburg, Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the upper house of Belarusian Parliament.
The parties discussed promising areas of Belarusian-Chinese interstate and inter-parliamentary cooperation, the topical issues on the international agenda, the need to unite efforts and draw up joint steps for an effective response to the challenges of our time.

In order to strengthen political mutual trust and practical cooperation in the interests of dynamic, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral relations, a special level of all-weather relations and comprehensive strategic partnership, a Belarusian official parliamentary delegation headed by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova paid a visit to the People's Republic of China at the invitation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji.
