"On Point"
MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – A peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine will come as unexpectedly as its outbreak, economist and analyst Serghei Banari said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“I think that the announcement of a peaceful settlement [of the conflict in Ukraine] will be as unexpected as [the events of] 24 February 2022. All major geopolitical conflicts start and end in unexpected ways. No one will inform us how close the sides have come to the main conditions,” he said.
At the same time, Serghei Banari noted that the Ukrainian conflict is actually a conflict between NATO and Russia: “There is no conflict between Russia and Ukraine. There never was one, and it's all just cheap Western propaganda. The fact that Ukrainians, being manipulated by propaganda techniques and total censorship, became victims of these mechanisms is another matter.”
In his view, the end of the conflict between Russia and NATO will mean that the West has failed to achieve its goals, whether military or economic defeat of Russia. “This will mean Russia’s victory over NATO and the beginning of the end of the North Atlantic Alliance. By the way, Trump stated that he would have to choose between control over Greenland and the existence of NATO. That is a quote; I am not adding anything from myself,” the analyst emphasized.
